Grocery shopping in Japan

Grocery shopping in Japan can be quite the culture shock. As someone who likes to purchase all organic meat and produce it can be hard to find. We typically go to a more traditional store, an organic grocery store once a week. We also stop by Costco at least twice a month. So here’s what a typical grocery haul looks like. Our first stop was Aeon, which is a like seven floor super store. On the top floor there is an electronic store and restaurants. Followed by a floor of kids clothes, shoes, baby supplies and claw machines. There is even a photography studio and art classes for kids. There are also three floors of clothes, household items and pretty much anything you can think of. The first and second floors are all groceries. So todays total was 29698 yen which comes out to roughly $194 USD.

Up next we headed over to the organic grocery store Bio C Bon. This a a small grocery store with mainly organic food. I spent 14985 yen which is about $98 USD.
